Ella Henninger is a PhD candidate at the Chair of International Political Economy and Environmental Politics, working on the SNIS Project on urban air pollution which focuses on identifying policy designs that maximize both political feasibility and policy effectiveness in reducing air pollution in urban centers in the Majority World. In her B.A., she studied Political Science and Geography at the University of Münster. She obtained her Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim, with a focus on quantitative methods. During her time in Münster and Mannheim, she worked as a tutor for statistic lectures and as a research assistant at the Chair for Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences.
Her main research interests lie in the field of public opinion with respect to climate change, pollution, and environmental policy acceptance, in particular in relation to socio-economic and political inequalities. In her dissertation, she addresses the question of the socio-economic and political drivers of and barriers to air pollution mitigation at different levels of analyses. She explores these and other topics primarily using quantitative methods.
